How much does laminate flooring cost installed?

From $2 per sq ft · installation labor

Installation from $2 per sq ft (labor). Materials are priced per collection at your visit, so the number you get is the final installed price. Minimum project 400 sq ft.

From $2 per sq ft (installation labor), quoted in full at your in-home visit. Collection choice, attached padding, removal needs, leveling and transitions determine the final scope. We explain whether separate underlayment is appropriate instead of stacking padding under a product that does not allow it. Your proposal identifies the selected floor and preparation work so you can compare options on a like-for-like basis.

Most whole-house installs take 2–3 days. Our minimum project is 400 sq ft. Preparation, curing requirements or complex layouts may extend the schedule; we confirm the expected timeline during your in-home visit.

A complete, clearly defined installation

  • Removal of existing flooring and haul-away
  • Subfloor inspection and leveling as specified
  • Compatible underlayment and moisture barrier where required
  • Professional laminate plank layout and installation
  • New baseboards and transitions between surfaces
  • Removal of installation debris and final cleanup

We review the existing floor, moisture-control needs, doorway heights and furniture access before scheduling. Your written proposal identifies the chosen materials and preparation so the final installed price reflects your home, not a generic room.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Ozzi Floors! From start to finish, the entire experience was professional, smooth, and stress-free. We needed to replace our laminate flooring after a previous contractor used the wrong underlayment…

Customer feedback

An affordable wood look with practical everyday comfort

Today’s laminate collections offer textured finishes and varied plank visuals that suit both contemporary and traditional interiors. Water-resistant does not mean every product is waterproof: spill protection depends on the collection, installation details and cleanup habits. We review manufacturer limitations before recommending laminate for moisture-prone spaces.

A successful floating floor starts underneath the planks. We inspect the substrate, check flatness and plan subfloor leveling so locking joints are supported. Appropriate underlayment helps manage sound and comfort, while perimeter expansion spaces allow the floor to move. Baseboards and transitions finish those edges without pinning the floating floor in place.

Laminate flooring questions

Is water-resistant laminate waterproof?

Not necessarily. Water-resistant laminate can tolerate certain spills within the manufacturer’s limits, but standing water and moisture below the floor can still cause damage. We review the selected product’s instructions and explain where it is suitable.

Does laminate need underlayment?

Many laminate floors need a compatible underlayment, while others have attached padding. Extra padding is not automatically beneficial and may affect the locking system. We follow the selected manufacturer’s requirements for the substrate and product.

Can laminate go over my old floor?

Sometimes, if the existing surface is stable, sufficiently flat and approved for the new system. Soft flooring and damaged materials generally need removal. We inspect the existing floor before recommending an overlay or full replacement.

How do I clean a laminate floor?

Use a soft broom or vacuum with a suitable hard-floor setting, then clean with a lightly damp cloth and an approved cleaner. Avoid soaking the floor or using steam unless the manufacturer specifically permits it.

Will laminate work in an upstairs condo?

It may, subject to the building’s flooring and sound-control requirements. Share the association’s rules before choosing materials. We review compatible underlayment options and the required documentation rather than assuming any pad meets the building standard.

How much does it cost?

Installation from $2 per sq ft (labor). Materials are priced per collection at your visit, so the number you get is the final installed price. Minimum project 400 sq ft.
